Alyson Lee Hannigan

 Alyson Lee Hannigan was born April 24, 1974. She is an American actress and television host. She is best known for her roles in the role of Willow Rosenberg in the television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003) and as Lily Aldrin in the sitcom How I Met Your Mother (2005-2014) for which she won a People's Choice Award in 2009 and in the role of Michelle Flaherty in the American Pie film series (1999-2012). Since the year 2016, Hannigan has been the host of the TV show Penn Teller & Teller: It's a prank on Us. Hannigan also voice Claire Clancy, the animated character in Fancy Nancy (2018-2018). Hannigan was the sole child of Emilie (Posner) Haas, an agent in real estate and Alan Hannigan, a Teamsters worker. Her father is Irish and her mother is Jewish. At age four, Hannigan began appearing in commercials. At the age 11, Hannigan moved to Hollywood with her mother. While in Santa Barbara, her father began auditioning for agents. She was a student at California State University Northridge after high school. There, she was a member the Alpha Chi Omega sorority, and received a psychology degree. Hannigan's first film role was in My Stepmother Is an Alien in 1988. Seth Green was one of her co-stars and later became her boyfriend on Buffy. Her first role was on the ABC sitcom Free Spirit in 1989. Hannigan was a teenager and helped the children of Bob Saget (her future How I Met Your Mother) as babysitter. In 1997, Hannigan was cast to as Willow Rosenberg, Buffy Summers best friend on the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer.The show became a hit and Hannigan received recognition afterward, appearing in a variety of films targeted towards teenagers, including American Pie (1999), Boys and Girls (2000), American Pie 2 (2001), and American Wedding (2003).She also had an appearance in the Buffy spin-off, Angel, reprising her role as Willow in a few episodes.
