Anne W. Burrell has worked as a chef, TV host in America and an instructor at Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef at the Food Network. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature spikey blonde locks and pump up appearance, offers the basics of cooking that anyone can master. Burrell is a chef who has been in the kitchen for a long time. Burrell is also an experienced chef of New York City's best restaurants. She also has studied Italy's culinary tradition and culture, along with the natural landscape. As a child in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love of cooking and food at a young age. She pursued her love of food and restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic learning experience. It was impossible to learn how to do, or even work hard enough. When I graduated of the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and Chef Burrell spent an entire year in Italy doing research and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. In Italy the chef gained an appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary traditions. It made a huge impact on how she views food. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to increase the lives of children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about childhood diabetes. as a speaker, guest and mentor she travels across the United States to discuss her passion for cooking as well as her profession. Anne has stated throughout her culinary career she is incredibly fortunate to be able communicate with people what is truly important for her.
