Ashley went to local high school which she took part in drama, soccer, and dance. The school decided to not send her to school after her graduation in the year 2018. Instead, she focused on acting. In 2011 Ashley was selected to voice Jessica Finch in the family comedy Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer and received recognition in 2012, when she was the role was given to her voice and rats in the popular animated comedy Ernest & Celestine which starred Forest Whitaker Lambert Wilson and Pauline Brunner and follows the friendship between Ernest the bear and Celestine the mouse. The movie received nominations and won 29 awards, including an Oscar being among them.
